Meat Free Monday One day a week can make a world of difference

Design a Meat Free Monday poster!

New competition open to schools

Posted : 13 May 2017

It’s been almost eight years since Paul, Mary and Stella McCartney launched Meat Free Monday, and since that time the campaign has grown phenomenally, with individuals, businesses – not to mention over a thousand UK schools – taking part. But we want to reach out even further, in new and exciting ways, which is why we’re launching a poster competition! We are inviting young people, our innovators of the future, to design a poster to raise awareness of Meat Free Monday and inspire others to get involved.

How to take part

To take part in the competition, pupils should design a poster with slogans, artwork, and original ways to express the benefits of supporting Meat Free Monday. We’ll be looking for:

  • Originality of design
  • Ability to raise awareness of Meat Free Monday
  • Potential to motivate positive change

Categories

  • Primary School: Ages 5-11 / Year groups 1-6 (England and Wales) / P2-P7 (Scotland) / P2-P7 (Northern Ireland)
  • Secondary School: Ages 11-16 / Year groups 7-11 (England and Wales) / S1-S5 (Scotland) / Year groups 8-12 (Northern Ireland)

Size

Posters can be designed on A4 or A3 paper. The winning posters will be produced in A3 (those submitted in A4 will be scaled up).

Prizes

  • First prize (for both primary and secondary winners): A winner certificate, a £100 book token, a professionally printed copy of the winning poster (and ten copies for the winner’s school), a copy of The Meat Free Monday Cookbook signed by Paul, Mary and Stella McCartney and a MFM tote bag
  • Second prize (for both primary and secondary winners): A runner up certificate, a professionally printed copy of the runner up poster (and ten copies for the runner up’s school), a copy of The Meat Free Monday Cookbook and a MFM tote bag
  • Highly commended (for both primary and secondary winners): A highly commended certificate and a MFM tote bag

Not only that, but the winning, runner up, and highly commended entries will also be displayed on the Meat Free Monday website and may be used in other ways to promote the Meat Free Monday cause.

Every school which enters will receive a pack of Meat Free Monday pens!
